Special attention will be paid to design and composition in which objects and the human form exist, not by themselves, but in a real or imagined environment. Students will work with various materials including pencils, charcoal and oil pastels. May be repeated nine times. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate technical skills in the use of line, shape, shading to create three-dimensional images on a two dimensional surface 2. Show sensitivity to the drawing as a whole as opposed to attempts to reproduce one single object. 3. Demonstrate an awareness of the possibilities offered by the use of different media: pencils, charcoal, oil pastels.
