State is changing Manure
Storage Design Standard
If you’ve ever complained about how a manure pit
is built or designed, now is your chance to change
it. The SOC (Standards and Oversights Council) is
planning to make minor revisions to the design
standard for manure storage (313). Possible areas
for changes include:



Number of agitation points
Setback from pit rim to nearest building
Width of ramps/agitation pads
If you have suggestions, please use the enclosed
gold form. All applicator suggestions will be
compiled into one document, but you are welcome
to contact the committee directly as well at the
number provided on the form.
Expo Details: Your chance to shine
and showcase your equipment
Enclosed is the brochure for the PNAAW Expo
Aug 19-20. Any PNAAW member who wants a
25 by 75 ft lot to display their equipment to
potential customers on the 20th should contact
Kevin Erb at 920.391.4652 by August 14. Several
lots are available at no charge on a first come, first
serve basis, but reservations are mandatory. You
must also contact Kevin if you are interested in
demoing your equipment in the field.
If you want to have table space in the tent to
display information about your business, contact
Kevin August 14. This is for members only.
Spill Response Training at Expo
Do your employees know what to do in the event
of a spill? PNAAW, DNR, and UW Extension
will showcase spill response techniques on both
days of the Expo. While both days will detail
general spill response techniques, the 19th will
focus on hose break/large spill strategies and the
20th on tanker releases/off-field movement.
This will be the only opportunity this year to
receive hands-on spill response training
