Project Name: PASTRX Import Wizard Sponsor: LAPK (Roger Jelliffe: jelliffe@usc.edu) Partners: Background: The biomedical objective of the USC Laboratory of Applied Pharmacokinetics (LAPK) is to create population models of drug behavior, and to apply these models by precisely tailoring patients’ dosage regimens. The first step in creating or using a population model is the entry or modification of patient data using the PASTRX software tool. Problem: PASTRX accepts patient data in a specific file format or requires users to enter patient data manually, but most users use Excel spreadsheets. The restrictive PASTRX input mechanisms create a barrier, which stop widespread use of the software. The proposed system is an import wizard that converts Excel spreadsheets into valid PASTRX formatted clinical patient data files. Constraints: The software created shall be able to adapt to a changing PASTRX file format. The format and content of the data in the Excel spreadsheet will not be fixed. Desired Deliverables: A tool with a user-friendly interface that enables the conversion of an Excel spreadsheet into PASTRX formatted clinical files is desired.
