Directions: Read the following excerpt from the response of Sor
Juana de la Cruz to Sor Filotea:
“…yo nunca he escrito cosa alguna por mi voluntad sino por ruegos y
preceptos ajenos”;.
(“I have never written a single thing of my own will, but rather only in
response to the pleadings and commands of others.”)
What is one of the “pleadings and commands of others” that you see
in this country today? (examples: prejudice, education problems,
poverty, etc.) Describe this problem in Spanish, and tell why it needs
to be solved. Your response should be at least 100 words.
