LIEUTENANT COLONEL HARLAN B. FANGMEYER UNITED STATES AIR FORCE Lt Col Harlan B. Fangmeyer is Strategic Mission Development Flight Commander, 608 Air Operations Center, Detachment 1, HQ 8AG, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. Lt Col Fangmeyer oversees B-2 and B-52 operational mission support to USSTRATCOM by validating, verifying, and transmitting bomber and cruise missile missions to tasked bomber units. Lt Col Fangmeyer further provides the interface between USSTRATCOM and HQ ACC for bomber issues and ensures proper interface between ACC and USSTRATCOM planning software and OPLAN issues. Prior to his duties at Detachment 1, Lt Col Fangmeyer was Chief, Combined Theater Electronic Warfare Coordination Cell, Al Udeid AB, Qatar. He was responsible for the planning, execution, coordination, interoperability, and interface of all electronic warfare operations for US and coalition airborne, ground, and space EW assets in the CENTCOM AOR. Lt Col Fangmeyer has experience in airborne EW operational testing, and is a Master Navigator with over 2,000 hours as instructor and evaluator navigator and weapon system officer in B-52H and B-1B aircraft. Lt Col Fangmeyer graduated in 1986 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received his regular commission through ROTC in Lincoln.
