Notes and guidelines
You will insert your assessment information into the poster template and posters will be printed by the @One desk in the KC. I believe it
will be necessary to have each poster mounted on foam board and the cost is expected to be about $45 per poster - $20 for printing and
$25 for foam board.
Type and Font Standards for Visual Accessibility
I have followed as much as possible recommendations for font size, type, and color that are accessible for people with vision problems.
Please do not change the dimensions (36” H x 56” W) of the slide, the dimensions of the text boxes, or the font size, type, or color of the
text box titles (Ariel, 105pt, black on white).
You may change the font size of the text describing your content from the current 54pt font down to 40pt, but I don’t recommend going
much smaller than that for the sake of your audience who will be reviewing many posters that day. Typically, you want your audience to be
able to easily read your poster from 10-15 feet back. Use your good judgment as you make decisions. If you need to go smaller, so be it,
but also consider that  You don’t need to put every single learning outcome you have written on the slide. Put a sample of your learning
outcomes on the slide – choose outcomes that illustrate your approach to assessment. Also, when choosing outcomes, consider that you
are presenting yourself as a potential resource for the division on the content and type of assessment you are doing. A few solid examples
are better, than an overwhelming number of examples.
Please plan to bring paper copies of your poster to handout – this may be a replica of the slide or an outline of the information it contains.
Make sure to include your contact information as well! This is how we will build a collaborative approach to assessment and develop a
culture of continual improvement.
