本課程與通識教育目標關聯性：
Students will build on their proficiency in the English language in order to have the practical skills necessary
for their respective careers and for full and active participation in today’s global society.
授課目標
There will be a focus on developing the skills and strategies needed to become proficient readers of
newspapers and other periodicals. Specially students will be able to
1) Identify and restate the main idea of a passage 2) Read and understand a passage
3) Paraphrase key ideas from a passage
4) Make inferences about information in a passage.

Beginning intermediate level of English as the text are in English.
The text is required. Students are expected to participate in class and make a meaningful contribution to the class
discussion. There will be homework assignments and classwork assignments as well as a midterm and a final.
