Academic Integrity
Academic dishonesty/cheating is defined as obtaining or attempting to obtain credit for work by the use of any dishonest,
deceptive, fraudulent or unauthorized means. Helping someone commit an act of academic dishonesty is fraud. If at any time
it is deemed that you have cheated, disciplinary actions will be taken which can include dismissal from class, failure in the
course, and expulsion from Rio Hondo College.
One example is documentary falsification including forgery, altering of campus documents or records, tampering
with grading procedures, fabricating assignments or altering medical excuses.
Unacceptable examination behavior during written tests in class include the following: talking to another student,
unauthorized materials on the desk, taking a test from the room, coping a test.
Policies on academic integrity are strictly enforced. Guidelines can be found in your student handbook on academic
dishonesty.
