SSU proposals for extended deadlines beyond the permissible lateness period may be approved by the DoSE. Where approved, the combination of a published 7 day late submission period and an extended deadline of 7 days beyond the late submission period, will accumulate to 14 days after the published cohort deadline (no penalty will be applied in these circumstances provided an extended deadline beyond the published lateness period had been agreed in advance). Extended deadlines will not be agreed where this may result in a submission on a weekend or bank holiday (excludes e-submissions). 2 Where an additional 25% extra time in assessment results in an assessment being submitted ‘out of office hours’, the submission time will be 12 noon the next day, provided this is confirmed by the Student Systems and Records Office (SSRO) and does not result in submission on a weekend or bank holiday (excludes e-submission). Student may rest at their desk or use the additional time for writing, up to the maximum additional time. Additional time may be used to rest outside the examination room within the examination area, where approved by the SSRO. No further time is given for toilet breaks which may be taken throughout including during the first hour. 3 Individual or group presentations can be held in a separate room, other than to a group, provided they are made to the same Marker. An extended deadline may not be approved for a group presentation.
