Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Program Specialist, Head Start Program, assists Hispanic Head Start teachers earn a BS degree in Early Childhood Education and assists participants in negotiating the academic program through individual and group contacts. The individual monitors course work, arranges tutoring, serves as a translator, and assists participants in applying new learning into their work setting. This position also serves as liaison between the academic program and Head Start, and helps participants incorporate Head Start Performance Standards and Nevada Early Childhood Standards in developmentally appropriate ways. 2.
