Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. (This section is used for advertisement of the position.) The Manager, Women’s Volleyball Operations, is responsible for the operational and administrative duties for the volleyball program.. The Operations Manager is an integral part of the team staff in assisting the Head Coach in the day-today administrative operations of the program to include developing the game schedule, communicating with academic staff, planning practice and breaking down film. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Provide enough detail to enable a person outside the department to understand the job (percentage first with heading and then bulleted information). 55% - Administrative Operations Assist the Head Coach with the volleyball game schedule by contacting potential opponents and negotiating with opponents Oversee and run game statistics application (Data Volley) as per confence rules to include analyzing game statistics to provide recommendations to coaching staff Organize on-campus recruiting visits Ensure compliance with NCAA, Conference, and university rules and regulations (subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures) Assist in communication with academic staff on study hall, player status, eligibility, assignments, etc. Coordinate the film exchange program with other schools to exchange tapes for review by the coaching staff and team members Break down film by identifying game elements, areas for instruction, and developing film notes for use by the coaching staff Provide recommendations on coaching and practice planning Schedule and manage the use of training and game facilities Co-direct summer volleyball camps 20% - Team Travel Coordination Coordinate Women’s Volleyball team travel for all regular season away contests Develop the logistics plan for all travel including practice times and/or scheduling practice facilities Develop budget, reconcile travel costs and ensure requisite funds are available to team Serve as liaison to the Compliance Office on all travel related issues 15% - Game Day Management Work and coordinate with visiting women’s volleyball teams to schedule practice times and game day activities 10% - Liaison Act as liaison for women’s volleyball between Intercollegiate Athletics Department, Conference, and NCAA l Develop alumni base/alumni liaison program Position Description - Manager, Women’s Volleyball Operations Page 3 3. Level of Freedom: Women’s volleyball is a highly visible program. The individual makes decisions, which are reported to the Head Coach, in accordance with regulations and in the best interest of the university.Incumbent makes decisions in breaking down film, analyzing statistics and negotiating the game schedule with opponents. The Operations Manager works with the coaching staff on arranging campus recruitment visits, planning travel, and in working with alumni. Impact: This position plays a key role in the overall success of the program. Poor performance will adversely affect the program, coaches, student-athletes and the fans which may result in scheduling conflicts, travel and financial problems and NCAA violations. 4.
