Range 1: The Assistant Coordinator, Fraternity & Sorority Life (F&SL) is a key part of the Office Fraternity & Sorority Life and the Office of the Associate Dean of Students. The Assistant Coordinator works closely with the Manager, F&SL and the Associate Dean, Students to advise fraternities and sororities on becoming national models of values-based recruitment, leadership development, community service, academic performance, and cultural competency skills. The Assistant Coordinator plans, designs, and evaluates the area of F&SL in support of departmental goals and objectives; interacts on police investigations; and in responds to media inquiries and emergencies involving fraternity and sorority student involvement. The incumbent advises the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Panhellenic, Multicultural Greek Councils, and Honoraries. The Assistant Coordinator serves as a resource to the leadership of individual fraternities and sororities and designs, implements, and evaluates membership development programs as well as recruitment and retention programs for F&SL. The Assistant Coordinator supports and participates in late night and weekend activities and emergencies in addition to maintaining regular business hours. Range 2 (in addition to Range 1): The Manager oversees the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life and serves as the primary contact person for all official inquiries about the F&SL community from (inter)national representatives, community constituents, and current and potential students and parents. The incumbent is responsible for recommending and collaborating to make the final selection and employment decisions and independently responsible for training and work assignment of office personnel. * Attach an organizational chart with positions, ranges, and names for the division. 1 Manager, Fraternity & Sorority Life 2. Range 1: 40% - Communication and Guidance Provide guidance to the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Panhellenic (PC) and Multicultural Greek Councils (MGC), Greek Council Honorary Organizations, individual chapter leadership and the Fraternity and Sorority Presidents Council regarding budget development, expenditure tracking, programming, logistics, events creation with learning outcomes, public relations, and liability issues Develop and present workshops and seminars at regional and national conferences (e.g. values based recruitment and integrity, strengthening an academic excellence culture, etc.) Represent the Office of the Associate Dean of Students, Student Life and/or the Division of Student Services in meetings, on committees and in workgroups both on and off campus (e.g. panel presentations, academic class presentations, community service events, conference presentations, etc.) Attend professional development workshops, conferences and trainings to develop and share knowledge with others 35% - Membership Development Oversee new and current membership development with fraternity and sorority national chapter offices to ensure a successful start; work with current chapters to strengthen membership development (e.g. hazing prevention, values-based recruitment, prevention of sexual assaults, creating cultures of legal and responsible alcohol consumption) Develop Fraternity and Sorority Presidents Council leadership Oversee development of MGC, PC, and IFC leadership Research and develop appropriate training material for F&SL leadership 25% - Administration and Oversight Align F&SL organizations with division and university goals Administer academic requirements/program; grade reports; and recruitment, retention, and graduation initiatives Ensure adherence to the Relationship Agreement Coordinate a risk management program with assistance from international and national organizations Manage Council budgets Maintain close relationships with alumni(ae) and/or chapter advisors Assess F&SL programs Range 2 (in addition to Range 1 responsibilities): 40% - Communication and Guidance Communicate with the (inter)national offices associated with all University fraternities and sororities regarding chapter business 2 Manager, Fraternity & Sorority Life Build a culture of accountability, leadership, trust, and support for all F&SL student members and advisors (i.e. for chapters in good standing, chapters in violation of the Relationship agreement, or in following through in closing a chapter) 30% - Membership Development 15% - Administration and Oversight 15% - Personnel Management Hire, train, evaluate, and, if necessary, recommend discipline or termination of staff Assign and review work; provide direction to meet the objectives and responsibilities of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life Encourage professional development through training, seminars, and committee service 3. The Manager, Fraternity & Sorority Life works directly with student leadership, faculty, and upper level Student Services administration, including those in Student Life and Student Conduct. The Manager applies and relays NSHE and University policies and procedures as well as city, state, and federal laws and regulations when making decisions and guiding campus fraternities and sororities. The incumbent is responsible for supervising Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life staff and will recommend the hiring, discipline, or termination of employees. The Manager maintains frequent contact through the academic year with the national offices for each University fraternity and sorority chapter to provide updates and strengthen the academic culture of the University’s F&SL community. 4. Fraternity & Sorority Life situations outside of precedent, policy, and procedure are immediately escalated to the appropriate point of contact.
