Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Functional Analyst/Quality Control Specialist (Admissions and Records) is responsible for insuring data integrity in the PeopleSoft Student System for admissions or records/registrar functions. This position conducts functional systems testing, troubleshoots functional problems, manages the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) universal person identification for the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), and creates and runs quality control reports and other system queries for data extraction. This position works closely with the Assistant Registrar for Student Information Systems and Information Technology (IT) to ensure timely and efficient solutions for all software related functional needs within the student system. The position reports to the Assistant Registrar for Student Information System Management and Operations. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Level of Freedom: This position exercises independent judgment in the development and implementation of methodologies that support quality control and data integrity.. Level of Impact: The effectiveness of Enrollment Services programs is dependent upon producing accurate and timely data. The impact of inattention to data integrity directly affects the university’s ability to admit and enroll students and award financial aid. Failure to provide accurate and timely data could result in the inability of the division to register and graduate students. Failure to identify functional user errors could result in high error rates in data entry and delays in processing student records, resulting in student and faculty dissatisfaction and poor student retention. The reporting of inaccurate information to federal and state agencies could result in the loss of Title IV funding and the university’s regional accreditation. 4.
