Essential Function: Light Work
Description: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently,
and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Light work requires walking or standing
to a significant degree and pushing and/or pulling.

The Coordinator, Child Health Research will facilitate the creation of the Center being
developed through a grant from Renown Health. This five year project will create a large data
warehouse of child health information and start a child registry project for children born in Reno,
NV. The position will coordinate and facilitate the project processes and timelines including the
recruitment and development of partnerships in the community to educate and collect project
required data. The position will work with the data managers and data entry personnel to
develop the content for the registry, coordinate with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to
ensure sensitive data is protected as it relates to human subjects, and will develop a
communication and training plan. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee graduate students
and coordinate reporting.

40% - Recruitment and Coordination
 Recruit and develop partnerships with external entities (initially, local hospitals,
pediatricians, and family community health practitioners)
 Work with clinical offices, hospitals, and clinicians to identify key data needed for the
child registry
 Establish consensus among entities regarding data elements and methods for collection
 Work with the PI and data staff, develop memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and
agreements to share data with clinical partners; recommend approval of agreements
 Organize meetings and community events with partners to develop registry data fields
by soliciting input from partners, to provide updates, communicate data integrity findings,
and educate on project progress
 Develop and implement clinical site support processes for enrollments and data entry

20%- Data Sharing Agreements
 Work with graduate students and data staff to identify appropriate data sources for child
health services research and the data warehouse
 Coordinate with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at UNR to develop appropriate
safeguards for data sharing
 Coordinate identification of appropriate data sources and work with PI and data
managers to create appropriate data sharing agreements
20%- Education and Training
 Develop and implement communication networks with partners to recruit and sustain
relationships
 Develop trainings as needed for staff (data entry, etc.) in conjunction with data managers
 Conduct trainings as needed for clinical partner staff
 Serve as subject matter expert and lead point of contact for all inquiries
 Deliver presentations to staff at clinical sites regarding data elements, entry, data
sharing, data field changes, etc.
 Occasionally provide narrative input for statistical reports or create visual
representations for use in communications
20% - Management
 Supervise graduate students, LOA, and undergraduate students, and volunteers
 Coordinate schedules for all Center staff
 Intake and prioritize data and report requests
 Assign, coordinate and review work
 Coordinate regular staff/team meetings
 Establish efficient and effective office and project procedures
 Coordinate work to ensure deadlines are met
 Work to obtain continued funding in collaboration with the PI

The position will design and implement community engagement activities to create health
partnerships for purposes of creating and using the registry. The position will coordinate with
graduate, student and data managers, the identification and data use needs of child health data
sources and oversee the creation and signing of MOUs. The position will develop and
implement educational efforts to train data entry personnel within the department and at health
care provider locations to clinic personnel. The position will coordinate all project activities.

takes to the supervisor for resolution and/or consultation. Provide examples. If a line of
progression, describe the supervisory consultation at the highest level.
The position will bring concerns to the supervisor regarding MOUs and agreements, hospital
and state level clinic concerns and unresolvable personnel issues. Regular meetings will be

used to report on activities and the PI and Co-I will monitor deadlines that will be implemented
by the position.
