Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Associate Director, Victims of Crime Treatment Center and Nevada Caregiver Support Center, is responsible for coordination of activities related to the three clinics housed within the Victims of Crime Treatment Center. These duties include organizing and coordinating the annual program review; collecting data from all programs for the quarterly reports; ordering brochures, and other operating budget items. The position coordinates the volunteer activities for the sexual assault and sexual and physical abuse clinics and manages the website. The individual provides psychological services to victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse who are either English- or Spanish-speaking. The majority of the work is accomplished via a one-to-one interpersonal relationship with clients and family members. The position engages in community outreach by delivering presentations and psychoeducational materials to the community. The Associate Director assists in the clinical supervision of the clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Nevada, Reno. At the Nevada Caregiver Support Center, clinical responsibilities include neuropsychological assessment for dementia, conducting intakes and screening for cognitive impairment in older adults, and administering psychological services to English and Spanish-speaking caregivers of loved ones who have dementia. Administrative duties include coordination of clinic activities, supervision of graduate level clinicians, preparation of quarterly reports, grant-writing, and acting as a liaison between the Center and relevant community agencies. All services provided are based on professional ethics, established standards for providers of mental health, and state and federal laws. The position reports to the two Principal Investigators (PIs) on the programs within Department of Psychology in College of Liberal Arts. 2. Level of Freedom: The Associate Director works under the supervision of both Principal Investigators on the grants. The position conducts community outreach with community agencies, sees clients at either clinic, provides supervision to doctoral level graduate students, and conducts relevant administrative tasks. Directing a clinic is a substantial task that is time-intensive. The position assists the PIs in chairing team meetings, providing doctoral level graduate students with clinical supervision, preparing treatment and assessment materials for clients, conducting community outreach, preparing quarterly reports, and preparing the materials for the annual program review by the granting agency. The position updates the PIs on the activities performed and informs the Directors of the Clinic as to the progress and problem areas. The position consults with the Directors on the more technical or complex implementation of the grant and any budgetary or scope of work changes needed. Impact: The activities performed by the position helps to ensure that both clinics run smoothly and that the clients served under these grants receive optimal care. The activities performed by the position also ensure that doctoral candidates in the clinical psychology program receive supervision and training in clinical psychology for students who are interested in working with clients who have dementia (and their caregiving families) and Post-Trauma Stress Disorder (PTSD). 4.
