Report Format
This document briefly describes the general structure of a (technical) report. Not all parts of a
report are relevant for every assignment. Every one of these parts is a section in the report. Every
section must begin with a subtitle/header. Not all sections apply. The report must have a footer
with the person’s last name and page number on every page.
Title page:
1. name of the institution
2. department name
3. course name, number, section
4. title and number of the assignment
5. name of the person who worked in the project, e-mail address
6. date
Body of Report:
1. Initial problem statement
2. Summary and purpose of the assignment activity
3. Detailed description of the solution and/or model(s) used in the project. (optional)
4. Table of results.
5. Limitations of the above specification and design of the system (optional)
6. Discussion of how the system modeled can be improved and extended to include
other services. (optional)
7. Discussion on the limitations of the method used, including every stage of system
development. (optional)
8. Comments and Conclusion.
9. List of references (include sources consulted such as: textbooks, journals, WebPages,
etc.). Include title, author, publisher (or URL), year.
