Optional Report Homework (10 pts): Choose either Option A or B.
Option A: “Calculating Ecological Footprint (EFP)”
p 21, the last Question of Chap.1, & p 689, the last Question of Chap.24.
(1) Follow the instructions in p21, to fill out the Table and answer all the four question
Visit the EFP Website to find your EFP. This must be done a month before the midpoint of the Semester.
(2) Follow the instructions p689 in order to recalculate Your Ecological Footprint by revisiting the same site about a month after mid-point of the semester,
and answer four questions. You need to have at least two months of a period between the
two trials.
This is to find how much you were able to reduced your EFP over two months period, by
changing your life-style including spending and others.
Option B: A Research Paper and Presentation (10pts):
Any topics of your choice, which is relevant to the course.
Identify recent environmental issues/problems. Give a background of the topios and issues,
and present possible solutions.
Present it to the class (10~15 min) at the end of the semester.
