PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
Kennesaw State University
Lead Crisis Coordinator for KSU Sturgis Library Building, 2010-present. Responsible for
leading the crisis coordinators in the Library building, responding to emergency events as
needed in the Library and on campus, and updating the Library building’s emergency
procedures.
Member of the KSU Engaged Service Team, 2012-present. The Engaged Service Team is
charged with developing and implementing processes to identify, advance, and recognize
non-curricular community engagement activities. I assisted with gathering information
about other institutions’ engaged service and participated in discussions on organizing the
team, the meaning of non-curricular community engagement, and how promote
engagement.
Member of the Year of Japan planning committee 2013. I created the research guide that
is available through the Year of Japan website: http://libguides.kennesaw.edu/japan
President of the KSU Pubic Administration Student Association (PASA), January-May
2013. As president I was responsible for planning meetings, organizing service activities,
and responding to questions about the group. I also helped assure that PASA remained an
active student organization at KSU.
Secretary of the KSU Pubic Administration Student Association (PASA), 2011-2012. As
secretary I recorded minutes of the meetings and maintained paperwork related to the
group’s activities.
Member of the KSU Graduate Policy and Curriculum Committee, 2008 – 2010. I was the
representative of the Library.
Member of the KSU Staff Senate, 2006 – 2007. I was a staff representative of the CIO
area. I participated in the discussions and formation of the team responsible for receiving
complaints or questions from KSU staff.
KSU Sturgis Library
Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of the Library Faculty Council, 2013-2014. I am responsible to
serve in all capacities of the Chair in the absence of the Chair and serve as
Parliamentarian for the Library Faculty Council meetings and library faculty meetings.
Chair of the Sturgis Library Disaster Response and Recovery Committee, 2013 - present.
This committee changed its name in 2013 and I was elected as Chair. My responsible is
to organize the committee meetings, lead the updating of the Library’s salvage and
recovery plan, update the Library emergency phone tree, and plan emergency
preparedness training for Library staff.
Team Coordinator of the Sturgis Library Disaster Committee, 2006 – 2013. During my
time as Team Coordinator I helped organize the committee meetings, led the process to
update and revise the Library’s emergency, salvage, and recovery plans, updated the
Library emergency phone tree, and planned emergency preparedness training for Library
staff.
Co-Chair of the Library Paraprofessional II Search Committee, 2012-2013. I assisted
with the organizing of the search for the Library Paraprofessional II Instructional
Services position. I helped create the scoring rubric for deciding who would be
interviewed and arranged the interview schedule.
Member of the Sturgis Library Instruction Team, 2012 – present. I teach bibliographic
instruction sections to undergraduate classes as scheduled. I am also part of the task force
responsible for organizing the instruction tool kit and plan for implementing instruction
standards for KSU 1101 and English 1101/1102 bibliographic instruction classes.
Member of the Sturgis Library Reference Team, 2012 – present. I am part of the task
force preparing training materials related to duties in the research clinic.
Member of the Sturgis Library Marketing Committee, 2012 – present. I participate in
discussions about marketing projects for the Library. I led the effort to create a guide
about the history of the Sturgis Library: http://libguides.kennesaw.edu/sturgislibrary
Member of the Systems Librarian Search Committee, 2012. I helped score candidates for
the System Librarian position and participated in the interview process.
Member of the Sturgis Library Technology Advisory Committee, 2011- 2012. I
participated in discussions on technology issues and needs for the Sturgis Library. I
helped prepare a wish list of technology for library instruction.
Member of the Sturgis Library Faculty Promotion Guidelines Committee, 2012. I assisted
with the development of the Library Faculty promotion guidelines.
Member of the Sturgis Library Promotion Committee, 2011-2012. I assisted with the
development of the Sturgis Library librarian and staff promotion guidelines.
Member of the Sturgis Library Social Committee, 2012. I assisted with planning special
activities such as retirement parties, staff graduation celebrations, and other events.
Salvage Coordinator of the Sturgis Library Disaster Committee 2005 -2006. I was
responsible for responding to emergencies as directed by the Disaster Team Coordinator
and oversee salvage and recovery efforts if needed.
Service to Professional Organizations
GLA (Georgia Library Association)
Chair of the Government Information Interest Group, 2011-2012. I was responsible for
organizing sessions related to government information for the Georgia Council of Media
Organizations conference.
Vice Chair of the Government Documents Interest Group, 2010-2011. I was responsible
for serving in all capacities of the Chair in the absence of the Chair and assist with
organizing the meetings.
Secretary of the Government Documents Interest Group, 2009-2010. I recorded and
distributed minutes of the group meetings.
GIL (GALILEO Interconnected Libraries)
Chair of the Interlibrary Loan Functioning Committee, 2009-2010. My responsibility as
chair was to facilitate discussion on the Georgia interlibrary loan listserv and assist with
the planning for the GIL Users Group Conference (GUGM). I also led the revision of the
GIL Interlibrary Loan Policies and Procedures.
ALA (American Library Association)
Volunteer to maintain Georgia’s entry on the ALA GODORT State Agency Databases
Across the Fifty States, 2011 – present. I am responsible for updating and adding
databases available from the state government of Georgia. The web address is
