Outages Banner completely down Friday – Sunday o Employees must enter vacation time if they choose to take off even though banner will be down. Please find alternative jobs for your employees to do. Exempt / Non-Exempt move Existing Technician I, II, and III employees will change from exempt to non-exempt in November. HR will meet with employees individually to give them benefit options and explain all the changes. They will not be able to work over time without approval from supervisor. Overtime is paid time and half for any hours over 40 hours per week. It will be taken out of the departments current budget. HR Academy Begins Oct. 19th Classes offered for Supervisors. They go through every area of supervisory roles. If you are interested in attending, contact Vickie Walker. It is highly encouraged that employees attend OIT Project Requests Data and security projects must go through approval processes. Be aware that this will slow down the process. Academic issues must go through approval processes to make sure the departments have authority to have the projects. If you are uncertain if a process needs approval please first check with Ray. New Project Management Software AdTask o Tom Rasmussen met with AdTask CEO to see what they want to donate to our school. o They are willing to donate academic and curriculum products and only give us a small discount for their other products. Helpdesk RFP o Joann needs to create an RFP to replace magic. It is a possibility that this software could solve our project management issues. o RFP will include systems for: Helpdesk Management system Project Management system Helpdesk Management system & Project Management system EDUCAUSE 2012 Conference Online version of conference will be available in December. If you are interested in attending the conference please contact Ray so he may buy access for the allotted amount needed. Only a limited number may attend. Be aware that they supply many resources that may be very helpful to you. “Game Changers” article: all directors should read and be familiar with chapter 3 Purchasing There are changes in the state purchasing regulations that have been changed and will be proposed in the future. Every 2 weeks Ray and Eddie will meet with purchasing to solve issues and questions about regulations. Let Ray or Eddie know if you have any questions you would like to be asked: Vendors: state laws No employee can receive a gift of more than $50 an occurrence If you are involved in purchasing a purchase, you cannot accept any gift, as it will be considered a felony. This law applies to purchasers and anyone in a current RFP committee involving the gift givers product. PBA IT Presentations Thursday, Oct. 18th in LI-323: Everyone is invited Misc.
