ABSTRACT This study investigated teachers’ perceptions of Hispanic students and the influence of multicultural training in four schools in a Southeastern suburban public school system (2 middle schools and 2 high schools). The Teacher Attitude Survey (TAS), an instrument the researcher created, was used to study the schools selected in Georgia. Researcher delivered a total of 400 surveys to principals, 100 per school. A total of 145 were returned. Statistical results demonstrate and support prior research in that the teachers with multicultural training had more positive perceptions on multiculturalism than teachers without training. Interviews with teachers and administrators confirmed that the growth Hispanic student population is consistent with trends throughout the entire U.S. 1
