MobilOne Motor Oil
Plot the viscosity of Mobil One motor oil, as a function of shear rate. You will need to visit the
HowTo on the Wells-Brookfield shear viscometer (specifically its range tables). Since you did
multiple readings, you can use error bars. The easiest way to compute this is by again combining
Excel and Origin, but you can use either alone. (Check out Excel's STDEV function and/or the
RowStatistics and/or ColumnStatistics functions in Origin). From your data, can you tell if Mobil
One is shear thinning, shear thickening, or Newtonian?
Repeat the problem with an offset error of 3 units.
