YMCA OF COLUMBIA-WILLAMETTE JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Program Instructor SUPERVISOR: Program Director CLOSING DATE: BRANCH: Clackamas YMCA SALARY RANGE: $9-$12/hr DOE Hours range from 2-14 per week after school and evening The YMCA of Columbia-Willamette is a mission driven organization, which seeks individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about our mission and vision. General Function: The program instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of 1 ½ hour long after school classes. Classes provide students with the opportunity to develop new friendships improve selfesteem, self-confidence and develop strong social skills. We need instructors for a variety of different classes including: Lego Engineering, Hip Hop, Arts & Crafts, cooking, general sports/PE, Chess, Drama, Spanish, music, etc. Number of days per week and hours vary depending on how many classes you are able to teach. Weekly hours range from 2-18. Entry Requirements: Experience working with children and parents. Must have reliable transportation for you and program equipment. Essential Functions: Incorporate and model our YMCA Principles into your work Create and implement curriculum appropriate for the class. Connect with and enjoy working with K-5th grade students. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
