Investment Objective and Policy

The Fund's investment objective is to provide income and capital growth over the medium to long term by investing globally in equities, bonds and alternative assets. The Fund aims to provide investors with an annual distribution payment of between 4% to 6%. There is no guarantee that this objective will be met. There is a risk to an investor's capital. Unitholders may not get back the amount originally invested.

The Fund will actively allocate between a wide range of investments including: equities and equity related securities; bonds and other fixed or floating rate securities (including, but not limited to, asset- backed securities and mortgage-backed securities) issued by governments, government agencies, supra-national or corporate issuers; and alternative asset classes (including but not limited to commodities and real estate) indirectly through exchange traded funds or real estate investment trusts. The Fund may invest up to 60% of the Fund's value in bonds and other fixed or floating rate securities which are rated by S&P as BB+ or lower, or an equivalent rating by another rating agency. The Fund will not invest more than 10% of the Fund's value in bonds rated by S&P as CCC or lower, or an equivalent rating by another rating agency, or in unrated securities. The Fund may invest up to 10% of the Fund's value in collective investment schemes. The Fund may hold up to 20% of the Fund's value in cash, deposits and money markets instruments. The Fund may use derivative instruments for investment purposes as well as for efficient management (for more information please refer to section 6 of Appendix I of the Prospectus).

The use of derivative instruments may include but is not limited to taking long or short exposures to credit markets, interest rates, foreign exchange currency contracts and to various sectors within these markets.

Risk Considerations

The government or company issuer of a bond might not be able to repay either the interest or the original loan amount and therefore default on the debt. This would affect the credit rating of the bond and, in turn, the value of the fund. Investment in bonds and other debt instruments including related derivatives is subject to interest rate risk. The value of the fund may go down if interest rates rise and vice versa. The fund may invest in higher-yielding, or non-investment grade, bonds. The risk of the issuer defaulting on the capital repayment is higher than with investment grade bonds. The fund can use derivatives for investment purposes. These instruments can be more volatile than investment in equities or bonds. Potential investors in emerging markets should be aware that this can involve a higher degree of risk. Less developed markets are generally less well regulated than the UK, investments may be less liquid and there may be less reliable arrangements for trading and settlement of the underlying holdings. The fund holds investments denominated in currencies other than sterling, changes in exchange rates will cause the value of these investments, and the income from them, to rise or fall. The target yield is an estimate and is not guaranteed. It is the sum of the four quarterly distributions that comprise the fund year, each calculated by dividing the quarterly distribution amount by the unit price at the start of that quarter. Yield distributions are paid as UK dividends. Basic rate taxpayers and non-taxpayers will not be liable for tax on distributions. Higher and additional rate tax payers will be liable to tax at their applicable rate for UK dividends, but with the benefit of a 10% non refundable tax credit. The Manager will notify registered unitholders if the target yield changes. The income and capital growth targets are estimate and not guaranteed. These targets may be reviewed and modified depending on prevailing market conditions.

Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, prices of shares and the income from them may fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the amount originally invested.

Some performance differences between the fund and the benchmark may arise because the fund performance is calculated at a different valuation point from the benchmark.
