The Graduate School at Liberty University equips future leaders
in a variety of fields, providing training in the areas that today’s
market demands most. With a growing number of master’s
degrees offered in the arts and sciences, a fully accredited school
of law, and construction on a college of osteopathic medicine
now underway, Liberty remains on the cutting edge of higher
education. Students are taught from an uncompromising Christian
perspective, prepared for tomorrow’s ever-changing global
marketplace, and graduate ready to impact and change the world.
Our 6,800-acre campus, featuring state-of-the-art academic and
recreation facilities, is located in the heart of Central Virginia.
Here you will have the unique opportunity to enjoy small class
sizes and personal attention from faculty members who are

The
GRADUATE
SCHOOL
In 1971, the late Dr. Jerry Falwell, Sr. founded Liberty University as
Lynchburg Baptist College. His vision of a world-class, Christian
university that would equip students with the values, knowledge,
and skills essential to impact tomorrow’s world began with 154
students and four faculty members.
Today, the vision has become a reality.
DR. SAMUEL SMITH

“The M.A. in History at Liberty
University is unique in that
it is intentionally evangelical,
academically rigorous, and fully
accredited. Several students have
come to our program from other
schools wanting exactly that
combination. I am excited to be
a part of this program.”
Fact: Smith’s research interest
is primarily in the intellectual
and religious development of
the Colonial and Revolutionary
South. His book, “A Cautious
Enthusiasm: Mystical Piety and
Evangelicalism in Colonial South
Carolina” was recently published.
A commitment to Christian principles, academic excellence,
and social responsibility continues to guide the university’s
direction for the future.
Students in Liberty’s graduate programs have the unique
opportunity to enjoy the resources and facilities that only a
large university can offer, while learning in small classes and
interacting with a committed, supportive, and intellectually
rich faculty on a daily basis.
The Graduate School is proud to have quickly become a worldclass teaching institution; placing strong emphasis not only on
research, but also on professional skills. Our faculty’s main goal
is to prepare students to excel in their chosen career immediately
after graduation, while influencing the world for Christ.
The Graduate School is an integral part of the Liberty University legacy
and is Training Champions for Christ who have a passion for lifelong learning.

Convocation brings men and women of impact to the
Liberty University stage on a weekly basis.
“At Liberty, we like to think we have a free exchange of ideas…
It is [the students’] job to eat the fish and spit out the bones
and to discern what is good advice and what is not. And if
you don’t learn that in college, when do you learn it?”
KIRK CAMERON
- Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr.
Convocation is a unique platform that allows Liberty students
to be exposed to an array of inspirational and educational
influences. Our students have engaged with business-savvy
CEOs, Hollywood directors, prominent politicians, renowned
preachers, and leading psychologists.
TIM TEBOW
The topics stimulate dialogue and sharpen inquisitive minds, as
Liberty students learn to engage and discuss important issues of
the day, not only in their individual areas of expertise, but all
along the academic spectrum. Convocation invites participation
in the global marketplace of ideas, and our students are stronger
for it. Our goal is that graduates are not only proficient and on the
cutting edge of their own fields of study, but that they are wellrounded, educated, and knowledgeable on a variety of subjects.
