282 University Center Houston, TX 77004‐3049 June 16, 2009 To our community partners, Please, let me take a moment of your time to tell you about how you can easily reach well over 10,000 students at the University of Houston with your message—be it a product, service, or recruitment opportunities for interns and employees—for a financial investment of as little as two hundred and fifty dollars. That’s right. $250.00. For the last seven years, “The Cat’s Back” has been the foremost event of the fall semester at the University of Houston. It’s an expansive student‐centric festival revolving around the biggest pep rally of the year, as well as activities ranging from “Cougar Casino” and a caricature artist to video games and a roving magician. The events, services, and organizations showcased stick in students’ minds—and if they impress, students will tell their friends. Last year, over 5500 students attended this three‐hour event, and most of them went on to tell their friends about what they saw there. Moving into its eighth year, the University Center at the University of Houston is looking to expand the event to be even bigger and better than ever. When students talk about what they saw at this year’s event, “The Cat’s Back: Building the Pride,” shouldn’t you be among the buzz? The University Center is seeking partnerships from the community for this year’s “Cat’s Back” celebration at all levels of financial commitment or involvement. Your organization could participate in any number of ways, from donated goods or services for our raffle events to financial donations to sponsoring a specific activity during the event. Development opportunities are available at a commitment as low as $250.00. Here’s some of what you get for your involvement: · · · · · Prominent position in all print advertisements for the event A place on our “Wall of Honor” recognizing donors to this Cougar tradition A tax deductible (as applicable by law) donation to a 501(c)3 organization The opportunity to promote your product to over five thousand students at the event Other opportunities as determined through mutual negotiation Please see the attached cost model to see the various levels of partnership available to you; even if you’re not interested in the donation levels listed, we’d love to have you aboard for this fall in any way you could provide! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me on my cell, any time, day or night, at 832‐385‐7908. Thanks again, and hope to hear from you soon!
