Creative Exchange Programme
The University of Exeter’s Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI) and University College
Falmouth’s Research in Art, Nature and the Environment (RANE) research group are currently
accepting proposals for projects to be carried out under the Creative Exchange programme.
The ESI is leading interdisciplinary research into solutions to problems of environmental
change. Research carried out in the ESI aims to enhance people’s lives by improving their
relationships with the environment. The RANE research group examines the relationship
between the visual arts and ecological thinking. The group aims to use artistic practice to offer
interpretations and models of thinking about the natural world that help to promote a sustainable
future. The ESI/RANE Creative Exchange programme fosters dialogue between the two groups
and facilitates collaboration between ESI researchers and creative practitioners who engage
with issues of environment and sustainability in their work. The programme also aims to support
Cornwall’s creative industries and stimulate opportunities for public engagement with ESI
research.
