Alder Creek Parents and Families, It is hard to believe that September is almost over and we are well on our way in a new school year. It is year two for me as principal of Alder Creek and I am very excited to continue working with such a wonderful community of teachers, support staff, students, parents and community members. I am thrilled to have our 6th grade students join us this year! ACMS is a thriving, energetic, and fun community of over 1,000 students. I want to send a special thank you to our 8th grade mentors (over 120 students) who have helped make the start of the year so successful. With their help, our 6th and 7th grade students have learned how to be safe, kind and responsible panthers. I would also like to thank all of our volunteers who helped at registration and continue to help our students as hall monitors, office support and lunch supervisors. We appreciate your time and know that our school is a better community with parent involvement. Please consider joining our volunteer team as we welcome parents to be here at school with our students. If you would like to volunteer, please come to the main office, or call 503.353.5700 (ext 0). I enjoyed seeing many of you at our Back to School Night. Thank you for spending an evening meeting your child’s teachers and experiencing a middle school seven period schedule. It was wonderful to see our parents hustling to get to class on time. We know working together we can make ACMS a kind and safe school. Parent Conferences, October 27th will be the next chance for you to meet with teachers. Please check our reader board and the webpage for information. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at 503.353.5710. Respectfully, Alyson Brant Julie Jones Monday, November 14, 2011 6:06:14 AM PT
