MOVING IN CHECKLIST For Self-Catered Residences What will I need for my first night? Alarm clock and personal belongings Bathroom toiletries (toothbrush and paste, flannel, towel, soap/shower gel, hair products, deodorant etc.) Bedding including pillows, sheet and a duvet. Starter and bedding packs are available through Click2Campus and can be delivered to your accommodation Reception in time for your arrival. We recommend non-fitted sheets for most of our residences but make sure that you check your residence webpage for bed sizes before you buy. Bike and bike lock if needed Coat hangers Computer/Laptop and printer if applicable Electrical appliances under 1200 watts in power* (e.g. hairdryers, stereo) Extension leads for power and Ethernet connections and UK adaptors if required* Formal photo identification, e.g. passport or driving license – this is needed to allow you to collect your key/key card Food and drink A plate, bowl, glass, mug and set of cutlery A saucepan and oven tray if you’re planning on cooking on your first night TV license (if you plan on watching live TV via your PC or laptop – aerial sockets are not provided in all study bedrooms) What might I need after my first night? You might want to share the cost of some of these items with your flat mates (if you are not in a studio) or buy them yourself from Exeter city centre. Cleaning products for your room, en-suite and kitchen Pots, pans, crockery, kitchen utensils and cutler. Starter packs are available through Click2Campus Laundry bin/basket Washing up items including: dishcloth, washing up liquid, tea towels Washing powder for laundry What we provide: Curtains. All bedrooms are equipped with flame retardant curtains which should not be replaced with your own. Cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, mop and bucket, irons and ironing board etc.) Desk lighting is provided in bedrooms (apart from Rowancroft en-suite and studio rooms) Mini fridge provided in bedrooms and a microwave provided in utility rooms If other items are required for medical reasons please contact AccessAbility to discuss your needs. Items that aren’t allowed: Any additional furniture or coat rails, unless required for medical reasons and pre-agreed with AccessAbility Candles, incense or any open flame device Electrical appliances over 1200 watts in power *All students’ electrical equipment must be safe and in particular: Be CE marked Have sound mains lead and plug Be correctly rated for fuses fitted for the appliance Not be used in combination which overloads the electricity supply
