CHOIR Organization Contest
Saturday, March 10 is the contest for the choir. We have been working towards this performance
for some time now and the choir is beginning to take shape well. There is still some work to do,
but that should get taken care of this week. We are fortunate to have so many good musicians in
the choir. Solo & Ensemble contest was a clear showing of the ability MSN students have in
music. Way to go!!
On the day of the contest (Saturday, March 10) – students will leave directly from school at 9:00
AM dressed in their blue choir shirts, black pants/skirts, black socks/hosiery, and black dress
shoes. The bus must pull out by 9:00 in order for us to arrive on time. The schedule for the day
is as follows:
8:30AM- Student arrive/warm-up
8:45AM- attendance
9:00AM- Board Busses- Depart MSN
9:35AM- arrive Woodland Middle School
9:50AM- Warm-up
10:20AM- Organization Performance
10:50AM- Depart Organization
11:10AM- Lunch at Portillos – Students need to bring their own money (Grays Lake)
12:05PM- Depart Portillos
12:35PM- Arrive at MSN
Parents are encouraged to come to this performance so there is a cheering section in the
audience. Besides – the choir sounds good, so come for a great performance! Woodland Middle
School is located at 7000 Washington St. Gurnee, IL 60031
If the choir is able to earn a “I” rating at this contest they will be invited to go to the State
contest, which takes place in April. We will make a decision about the State contest if that
option comes up.
If you are able to chaperone on this trip – that includes riding along on the bus, taking
attendance, helping at the contest site, etc. please let me know ASAP. The Choir needs 2 more
parents to go along with them.
