4-H By-Laws Instructions
All clubs must review and submit a copy of their current by-laws. The County Extension
Educator must approve by-laws before the club can implement them. If a club does not have
by-laws then we recommend that the club follow the online by-laws format and submit a
proposed copy to the Educator. A sample format can be found at:

By-laws are due to the office by December 31st of the current year.
The following items should not change:
1. The purpose of the club should be the same as the template.
2. You must include the following under the membership statement. Open to all
without regard to race, color, gender sexual orientation, disability, religion, age,
marital or prenatal status, or national origin. Any youth age 8 -18 as of January 1
of the current year may become a member of this club.
3. The rule on Amendments to by-laws should stay the same as template.
