Alliance Program and how it can help protect and benefit your
university. The overall theme of the conference is “forewarned is
forearmed”

Academia and Government Cooperation (J. Reece Roth Case)
Assistant United States Attorney Will Mackie will discuss lessons
learned in the J. Reece Roth case, affecting the University of
Tennessee and how it can offer simple solutions in avoiding
violations of U.S. Export laws and becoming victims of foreign
companies and governments

Cyber Trends and Campus Threats
Special Agent Adam Keown will discuss the most recent threats to
university research and security over the Internet and how best to
avoid them

Case Briefing – Shriver Case
Special Agent Tom Barlow will discuss the Glenn Duffie Shriver
case in which Shriver was identified and recruited by the Chinese
intelligence service while in college and specifically targeted
toward employment with U.S. Government intelligence agencies

General University Compliance/Export
William A. Metcalf & Robin Wilcox will present practical
information concerning export compliance issues that affect all
universities

International Travel/International Students
Special Agents Jim McGuire and Kimberly Kidd will provide useful
information concerning the threats that target university students
and faculty whenever they travel outside of the U.S. They will also
present information concerning threats that may target your
International students and what the FBI can do to help mitigate
them
