Homework Due: Addition Battle Created by Box Cars and One Eyed Jacks 1. Shuffle the cards (ace=1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,) or (ace=1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 7, 8, 9). Deal all the cards out. 2. To play, turn two cards over and add the numbers together to find the sum. 3. Flip a penny. If the penny lands on heads-whoever has the greatest sum gets the cards. If it lands on tails-whoever has the lowest sum gets the cards. 4. Don’t forget your math talk! “____is the greater sum or _____is the least sum” depending on the flip of the coin. 5. Take turns turning over your two cards and then flipping the coin. 6. If you and your partner end up turning over the same cards you will have a battle! Each of you should lay three cards from your pile face down and then two cards face up. Whoever wins depends if you are looking for the greater or least sum. Want a challenge? Try playing this game by adding three cards together. There is a video available so you can watch how to play the game. http://www.lz95.org/classes/mathvideos_sweider/ ____________________________________________ played Addition Battle _________ time (s).
