Maryland 4-H Animal Science Program Guidebook Horse Jamboree Overview: The Maryland 4-HHorse Jamboree is an educational event with fun-filled activities and events all about horses. Typically three days and two nights, 4-H members attending will get to participate in experiential learning activities including workshops and demonstrations, arts and crafts, testing their knowledge through the horsemanship contest, and enjoying a variety of other fun activities such as swimming, water games, etc. In addition, the State 4-H Horse Communications Contest is also held at this event. Horse Jamboree is usually held in June/July at various locations throughout the state. Registration numbers may be limited depending on the facility. The registration fee includes lodging, meals, and a number of other items. Participants: This event is open to all Maryland 4-H members, ages 8-18 as of January 1st of the current calendar year and UME volunteers. November 2011
