What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week we learned how to use bar models and
tables to solve word problems. We also reviewed division,
multiplication, numerical expressions, and problem solving.
Next week we will begin our unit on fractions.
Reading – In our partnerships, we continued reading and
discussing realistic fiction books. We wrote letters about
the themes of our stories from our character’s perspective.
We also met with our buddies and read Halloween books.
Writing – We finished publishing our personal narratives
this week by typing our stories and creating a cover. Then
we shared them with the class. Next week we will begin
our unit on persuasive essay writing.
Science – This week we observed the fish, pond snails, and
duckweed in our aquarium. We also looked at bacteria
from a hay infusion. Next week we will begin creating 3-D
models of pond life critters we researched in library class.
