John Gallagher Business Angel and Chairman MediaFed John Gallagher is a UK based entrepreneur with a strong track record in building, growing and selling ICT businesses. John is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of MediaFed, a London based digital advertising network providing premium publishers worldwide with a RSS metrics system and a premium advertising platform. John was joint founder and CEO of Footfall, the company he established with partner Brian Barnes in 1991. The company was initially set up following the development of technology for tracking the movements of pedestrians in retail environments. Footfall progressed to establish customer counting as a key performance indicator for retail and leisure outlets. Footfall built up a strong global brand with 40% of its business coming from outside the UK. The company was sold to Experian, the information solutions company, in January 2006 for £37m. Prior to this John founded IT Direction an information technology news portal in 1990, which he sold in 1996. John has firsthand experience of building and selling a successful business, he regularly acts as a mentor to other entrepreneurs, and considers new investment opportunities.
