Diane Knight Prior to embarking on a PhD at Cranfield, Diane spent seven years in the technical non-woven industry as Business Development Manager and Development Technologist. This work involved developing profitable new products and business opportunities in technical industries as diverse as rail, aerospace, defence, power generation, building and high performance automotive. Diane’s career also includes three years marketing for the 5A rated Computing Department at Lancaster University. The combined experience of new product development, business development and marketing is being utilised effectively in her PhD research topic at the Centre for Business Performance. Diane is researching people’s perceptions of uncertainty, how they manage the gaps in their knowledge and how this affects the performance of entrepreneurial teams working on radical new product development projects. Innovation, business performance, knowledge management and organisational learning are the key areas for this work.
