NGC 2832
Rating: 3 M
Other Names: UGC 4942; H I 113
Position: 0920+3345
Type: Gal
Surface brightness: 13.7
Class: E
Dimensions: 3' x 2'
Magnitude: 13.0
PA: 160
Notes:
Actually, NGC 2831 is superimposed over it, but a small scope only reveals one
object.
It is a member of the galaxy cluster Abell 779.
Observations:
C8 at 104x. A 9m star is 3 min E. A 13.5m star overlays the S end. An 11m pair of
stars lies 3 min S. It is faint and grows with averted vision. It looks quite even— no sign
of a nucleus, and it takes high powers very well. Its axis runs SE-NW.

Dimensions: 1'
Magnitude: 12.9
Notes:
This galaxy appears to be the victim of a plunging encounter in the distant past.
Observations:

Notes:
Several quasars are in this general area.
Observations:
C8 at 104x. It appears as a bluish, fuzzy star (perhaps we are seeing only the
nucleus). It is fairly easy, though. The axis runs E-W. A 7m star is 7 min WNW.
