This spiral galaxy is viewed nearly edge-on from our perspective. Because of its
appearance, it was nicknamed the "UFO Galaxy" by the Astronaut Memorial Planetarium
and Observatory site.

Observations:
C8 at 65x. It presents a very pronounced NE to SW streak, with high surface
brightness. It takes high powers very well, where it shows a dust lane on the S side. A
12m star lies 3 min S and a 6.3m one (SAO 61074) 28 min W.
C11 at 115x. Large, bright and even, but no sharp nucleus.

It would be 25 million miles in diameter!
