LORADO TAFT Suggested Clothing and Equipment To enjoy your outdoor experience at Taft you must be properly dressed. Listed below are suggestions that will help you bring the things you need without being burdened by having to carry unnecessary items. The time of year will also impact the items you will need. The program at Taft is an active one. Your clothes do not need to be new, but they do need to be appropriate for outdoor activities in all kinds of weather. Be prepared in case you get wet or the weather turns cold. Suggested Clothing Long pants Shirt Socks Raincoat or waterproof poncho 2 pairs of comfortable shoes Underwear Extra socks Boots Warm jacket Sweater or sweatshirt Hat (preferably waterproof) Sleepwear Personal Items Toothbrush and toothpaste Towel and washcloth Soap in a soapbox Comb and brush Sleeping bag or sheets and blanket pillowcase Shampoo Deodorant Other Supplies Pens or pencils (at least four) Small water bottle Backpack Watch Taft booklet Personal book for quiet reading time Camera and film Up to $1.00 in spending money for postcards Optional Items Your own pillow The students are responsible for carrying their own luggage to and from the bus. A duffle bag would be ideal, but anything the student can handle will be suitable. Remember to label your possessions. Please do not bring candy, gum, or other food to camp. Meals are adequate and regular. A snack is provided in the evening. Please leave ipods, electronic games, cell phones or other toys at home.
