In literacy will be reading the BTL books-Chinese Kites, Monkeys, What’s Black
and White and Moos, Dan the Flying Man and Sleeping Out
In literacy we will be reading and writing our Kindergarten sight words for the
month-we, or, he, she, get, look, can, this, that and up (please work on
reading and writing all the Kindergarten sight words at home)
In literacy we will continue to work on Non-Fiction (Reading Fundamentals)
In math we will finish Module 8
o Operations and Algebraic Thinking-Represent addition with pictures and
equations. Identify combinations that make 10
o Geometry-Identify items that as 3D objects or 2D shapes
o Geometry-Make 3D objects
In math we will begin Module 9
o Operations and Algebraic Thinking-Represent subtraction with pictures
and equations. Represent and solve subtraction word problems.
o Geometry- Identify triangles, circles, square rectangles, non-square
rectangles and hexagons. Describe features of 2D shapes.
In social studies we will be using our class post office to deliver our Valentines
In social studies we will be learning about President Lincoln and Washington
Celebrating our 100th day of Kindergarten
Celebrating Valentine’s Day
In science we will finish our unit on Life Science-animals
In science we will begin a unit on Earth Science-Day and Night, Weather and
Seasons

Friday, February 5th- 100th Day of Kindergarten
Thursday, February 11th- Early Dismissal Day and Valentine’s Day Party
Friday, February 12th- NO SCHOOL Teacher Institute Day
Monday, February 15th- NO SCHOOL President’s Day
