Assessment Measures
In the boxes below, summarize
the outcomes assessed in your
course during the year.
In the boxes below, summarize
the methods used to assess course
outcomes during the last year.
Outcome #I
Successful students will develop
understanding of manual drive
trains and axles and the
principles and operational
characters of all of the
components.
Students will participate in a precourse test and post-test. 30 pretest questions are controlled
questions. The post-test will have
all pre-test questions embedded
within the post-test.
Mechanical aptitude will be
measured by written tests and use
of hands-on worksheets in all
hydraulic testing and repair areas.
Outcome# 2
Successful students will
demonstrate mechanical aptitude
to accomplish maintenance,
testing and repair of manual drive
trains and axles components and
systems.

Assessment Results
In the boxes below, summarize
the results of your assessment
activities during the last year.
I
Use of Results
Effect on Course
In the boxes below, summarize
how you are or how you plan to
use the results to improve student
teaming.
Based on the results of this
assessment, will you revise your
outcomes? If so, please
summarize how and why in the
boxes below:
Students demonstrated an overall
increase of 43% in manual drive
trains and axles principles and
operation.
Instructors evaluated the data and
found significant improvement in
A. Clutch repair.
B. Transmission overhaul and
power flow.
C. Constant velocity and
universal joints.
D. Differential power flow and
adjustment procedures.
After a full review of our
measures for this assessment the
automotive faculty will review
each pre-test and post-test to
more closely match the program
learning outcomes and achieve
greater reliability and validity for
the pre-test and post-test.
Evaluation of student' s
worksheets indicated that
worksheets need to be more
rigorous in system testing.
Instructors wi11 use this
information to upgrade task
worksheets to reflect needed
training skills.
Using our analysis, students need
to validate their hands-on skill
level by the use of improved
worksheets that exhibit real
world conditions in manual drive
trains and axles system testing
and repair.
