Outcome #1: Students will read, understand, interpret and communicate spoken and/or written Italian at a beginner’s level. At semester’s end the students will be required to write a presentation of their choice using the grammatical structures studied throughout the semester, at the beginner’s level. Students will be able to demonstrate their acquired knowledge through examination which will prove their ability to read, write, speak and/or comprehend Italian at a beginner’s level. The following core indicators were assessed in Spring 2010: The assessment indicated that none of the indicators assessed ( 95% accuracy ) fell below a 70% accuracy level. At a 95% accuracy response of the core indicators assessed, the levels of ITAL 113 are well above average and therefore an effort should be made to maintain such percentages. Avere, Essere and Stare, Present progressive, Demonstrative adjectives, Dovere, Potere, Volere, Direct object pronouns, Present perfect with avere and Present perfect with essere.
