Statistics from the license exam, (Table I to the right) provided by the exam administrator PSI Exams Inc., are an excellent assessment tool. Unfortunately, the statistics are not provided consistently which accounts for the gaps shown in the results in the table. However, 11 months are shown from April 2013 -January 2015. The high passage rate, 88%, compared to the state average of 61%, demonstrates that we are achieving our course objectives and learning outcomes for RE 10 I . Use of Results The overall result is significant. In addition, an item analysis is provided below. The item analysis is used to identify strengths and weaknesses in specific topic areas. The item analysis begins on the next page. In weak areas curriculum content changes will be made as well as adjustments to the teaching/learning approach. An 88% passage rate is already very high so proposed changes will be approached cautiously. It is not clear why this item has relatively low results (73%). Transfer of title includes common law and statutory law which are currently mixed together. As an experiment the common law and statutory law will be presented separately and then combined to briefly compare and contrast them to each other. There is a huge amount of material but only two questions are extracted for the license exam. Some of the sub-topics listed on the content-outline could easily be a three credit course, for example, commercial property. The 72% passage rate is not alanning, so for now, no changes are anticipated. Matlt is generally covered within the context of another topic. For example, commission calculations are studied in the brokerage unit and land area calculations are studied in the land description unit. We will continue to teach math within content areas. In addition, a special math module will be presented to supplement and strengthen this area. The math module will review fonnulas and calculations relevant to all topics in which calculations are done. The module will cross over REIO! and RE103 and probably be presented as part of RE103. It will be first delivered in fall 2015. Conclusion The 88% passage rate on the national portion of the license exam demonstrates that RE I 0 l objectives and learning outcomes are being achieved. A plan to improve is in place and will be implemented in fall 2015. Results of the state specific portion of the exam will be covered in the RE l 03 CAR. Respectfully submitted, Page 6
