They construct regular hexagons inscribed in circle. Review and practice classifying quadrangles and identifying polygons. Students investigate “unsquaring” numbers. They explore properties of square numbers and their square roots. Students review the markings on the Percent Circle. They interpret circle graphs and estimate percents on circle graphs. Students represent composite numbers as factor strings and identify the prime factorization of a number. Students find the dimensions of the rectangle with the largest area for a given perimeter.
