A Look at Our Week
Reminders
Reading We are reading Sarah, Plain and Tall as
as class. We can identify inferences, literary terms,
and write our comprehension answers in
sentences.
Language Arts We are working on writing
complete sentences, identifying the 4 types of
sentences. Nouns start tomorrow.
Math We can apply many addition and
strategies, in addition to the standard algorithm.
We can convert minutes to hours and minutes.
Social Studies We understand supply and
demand. We are developing our own businesses
that can be run by kids.
Science We can identify the ingredients of our
mock rocks. We know the 3 categories of rocks.

A special thanks to Mrs. Czabaj and
Mrs. Pinedo for joining us on our field
trip to the Elgin Museum. We learned
all about Rocks and Minerals and the
history of animals and Native
Americans in Illinois.

Our next module in math is all about
multiplication, factors, multiples, and the
properties of multiplication.
PLEASE PLEASE review the multiplication facts
with your child DAILY.
BUSINESS PLANS
We are developing our own business plans for a
company that can be run by your child. We
used a lemonade stand as an example on how
to develop a business. (No lemonade stands or
dog walking businesses can be used by your
child.) Try to help your child think of something
that is needed/wanted by people in LakeZurich
