Page 2 of 20 Multiparty Licensing Overview Cisco® Multiparty licensing is the primary licensing model used for Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) Premises, Cisco’s video conferencing infrastructure solution for on-premises deployment. Multiparty licensing removes the complexity associated with the traditional video conferencing licensing model. Previously customers needed to know how many people would join each meeting and from what device; they needed different licenses for scheduling, video interop, and firewall traversal, in different quantities; and they needed separate licenses for video and unified communications, which were calculated in different ways. The Multiparty license model provides all of these capabilities to enable a video centric meeting with a unified license. This guide is focused on the new simplified ordering process for Cisco CMR Premises and video conferencing infrastructure enabled by Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing Professional (Cisco UWL Pro) and the Multiparty licensing model. For legacy a la carte ordering of the various Cisco TelePresence® infrastructure components, please see Appendix 1. Multiparty licensing is available in two variations: Personal Multiparty (PMP) licensing, which offers a named host license, and Shared Multiparty (SMP) licensing, which offers a shared host license. Personal Multiparty (PMP) provides a named host license assigned to each specific user who uses video frequently. This can be purchased only through Cisco UWL Pro. Personal Multiparty is an all-in-one licensing offer for video conferencing. It replaces what was previously known as Personal Multiparty-Basic and Personal Multiparty-Advanced and is included with Cisco UWL Pro at no additional cost for new and existing customers. It allows users to host conferences of any size (within the limits of the Cisco TelePresence Server hardware deployed). They can meet with others in their personal meeting room, or launch instant meetings and schedule future ones. Anyone can join a meeting from any endpoint, and the license supports up to Full HD 1080p30 quality video, audio, and content sharing. Shared Multiparty (SMP) provides a concurrent license that is shared by multiple users who use video infrequently. It can be purchased at a reduced price with a UCM TP Room Registration license included when purchasing room endpoints, or it can be purchased a la carte. Shared Multiparty enables all employees who do not have Cisco UWL Pro licenses. It is ideal for customers that have room systems deployed that are shared among many employees. All employees, with or without a Cisco UWL Pro license have the same great experience, they can host a meeting with their personal meeting room number, launch an instant meeting, or schedule a future one. Each shared host license supports one concurrent video meeting of any size (within the limits of the hardware deployed). Each Shared Multiparty license includes 2 Rich Media Session (RMS) licenses, which can be used to enable business-to-business (B2B) as well as Lync interop calling. SMP should be deployed together with PMP, since all of the necessary solution component licenses are provided with PMP in Cisco UWL Pro. However, for customers that are deploying only SMP and do not yet have the needed Cisco TelePresence Conductor, Cisco TelePresence Management Suite, and Microsoft interop licensing, an SMP Starter Pack should be ordered. © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. This document is Cisco Confidential Information. Page 3 of 20 Both Multiparty license options are available as one-time, perpetual licenses. In addition, the purchase of a Cisco Software Support Service (SWSS) contract (minimum one year) is required. With the new Multiparty model, the PMP and SMP licenses are centrally managed by Cisco TelePresence Conductor, giving full flexibility of using the licenses across any number of Cisco TelePresence Servers distributed globally by a single Conductor cluster. This allows all platform capacity to be available for any meeting, and the meeting capacity is no longer limited by licensing (as it was with the port and screen license models). Note: License sharing across Conductor clusters is not supported (for example, sharing PMP/SMP between Conductor cluster A and Conductor cluster B is not supported). The PMP and SMP licenses are managed within a Conductor cluster. Figure 1 gives an overview of the Cisco TelePresence license types. Figure 1. Cisco TelePresence Infrastructure Overview and Primary License Types * SMP ordered together with an endpoint also includes the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Room Registration license. * New SMP customers without Cisco UWL Pro should use the SMP Starter Pack for infrastructure licensing. ** It is possible to provide a user with any of the room endpoints as a “personal endpoint.” It just requires a TP Room Registration license, which is provided with SMP when ordered with the endpoint. Note: While Cisco UWL Pro is applicable only to Cisco Unified Communications Manager based deployments, SMP can be used with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS). The Cisco UWL Pro license is the most comprehensive license for Cisco CMR Premises due to the inclusion of the Cisco TelePresence infrastructure components with Personal Multiparty (PMP). Table 1 shows the UWL license stack for reference. Table 2 gives details on the Cisco CMR Premises license types. Table 1. Solution Component Overview Solution Component Description Cisco Unified Communications Manager Provides dial plan, endpoint registration, enterprise video, voice, and unified communications functionality. Cisco Expressway Series Cisco Expressway is made up of two components: Expressway-C and Expressway-E. Expressway-C provides multiprotocol translation for standards-based H.323, H.264 SVC, or Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) third-party video systems. It also provides support for third-party interworking with Microsoft OCS, Lync, and Skype for Business (enabled via additional licensing). Expressway-E provides support for VPN-less communication, enabling remote connectivity for Cisco video endpoints including Cisco Jabber®, as well as for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) communication. Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) Premises Provides multiparty meetings via Personal Conference rooms (with vanity URI and number) plus instant meetings (ad hoc) from endpoints for all users regardless of license type (PMP or SMP). The main components of CMR Premises include: ● Cisco TelePresence Server functions as the videoconference bridge. ● Cisco TelePresence Conductor manages one or more Cisco TelePresence Servers. ● TMS-Provisioning Extension (TMS-PE) enables large-scale CMR Premises provisioning and a user selfhelp portal. Scheduling and management Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS) provides support for conference scheduling with One Button to Push (OBTP) and conference management. TMS Extensions for Exchange (TMS-XE) enables Microsoft Exchange calendaring . Note: For older video endpoints and interworking with H.323 endpoints, Cisco continues to offer Cisco VCS-C/E (refer to Appendix 2). Cisco Multiparty Ordering Information Step 1. Select endpoint type. ● Video users with Cisco Jabber and/or personal endpoints. ● Shared room system endpoints. Step 2. Add the meeting license: ● For each personal endpoint user, add a UWL Pro license (which includes PMP). ● For each shared endpoint, add an SMP license. Step 3. Add servers. With Multiparty licensing, all meetings can expand to include any number of participants, using any device, up to the limit of the available Cisco TelePresence Server platform’s capacity. All TelePresence Server platforms are supported. However, due to the larger capacity and support for the latest feature set, it is recommended that customers choose the Cisco Unified Computing System™ (Cisco UCS®) based Cisco Multiparty Media 410v (MM410v) servers or blade servers or the Cisco Multiparty Media 820 (MM820) blade server, which offers high capacity and investment protection for customers with dedicated Cisco TelePresence MSE 8000 Series chassisbased deployments. Please refer to the next section, “Cisco TelePresence Server Ordering Information for Multiparty Licensing,” for further details on these servers. Also, the Conductor and TMS require a server to run on; see the section “Cisco Business Edition Series for Video Solution,” later in this guide, for details. © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates. For virtual edition purchases with the MM410V or MM410VB, the activation key is included by selecting R-VTS-K9 PID. The activation key is automatically included with the other hardware platforms. If installing on other Cisco UCS or customer-provided hardware, choose R-VTSK9 only per Cisco TelePresence Server to be deployed. VMware Ordering Information When purchasing the MM410v or MM410vB, a VMware license is required. If you want to purchase license, support, and upgrades from Cisco, there are two options: 1. Basic option: Select VMW-VS5-410V-K9 under the MM410v configuration. This will preload an OEM license for Cisco TelePresence Virtualization Software (details here: http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_VMware_Requirements#License_Comparison). The basic option does NOT offer advanced VMware feature support (high availability, vCenter, vMotion, Cisco Nexus® 1000V, etc.). This virtualization software license costs $2,499 and requires SWSS for Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) support and upgrades. 2. Advanced option: When advanced VMWare features are needed, select VIRT-LIC-NONE and purchase the separate line item VMware vSphere ESXi Standard Edition or higher, using one of the Cisco UCS VMware SKUs on the data center price list. Refer to the data center sales team for help on the license SKUs and ISV1 contracts they require (a typical quote requires to covers a dual CPU, qty 2 of VMW-VS5-ST-1A=, which is $3732 and requires ISV1 for TAC support and upgrades). If you want to purchase license, support, and upgrades directly from VMware, or you already have a VMware license (for example, a site license, ELA, etc.), select VIRT-LIC-NONE. The customer needs to provide the vSphere ESXi 5.5 Standard Edition or higher feature level and get support and upgrade contracts directly from VMware. © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates. Page 9 of 20 CMR Hybrid Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) Hybrid allows for two-way video, audio, and content sharing between meeting attendees using any type of Cisco TelePresence endpoint, Cisco WebEx® Meeting Center (Cloud Service, not Cisco WebEx Meetings Server) participants and standards-based third-party endpoints such as Lync. The new Multiparty licensing model supports CMR Hybrid for both PMP and SMP. As before, the PMP/SMP-based meeting host needs a Cisco WebEx Meeting Center license. Note: You must have a current subscription to Cisco WebEx Meeting Center conferencing services, with an audio plan (Cisco WebEx or telephony service provider (TSP) and Cisco TelePresence Multiparty infrastructure with Cisco TelePresence endpoints in order to use Cisco CMR Hybrid. With Cisco CMR Hybrid, a meeting host can launch a joint Cisco TelePresence and Cisco WebEx meeting simply by pushing one button. To schedule a meeting, an organizer can use Microsoft Outlook integration as a feature of Cisco WebEx productivity tools. The host selects the participants, adds preferred Cisco TelePresence endpoints and Cisco WebEx information, and sends the invitation to all participants. For details about this solution, refer to the CMR Hybrid data sheet, and Q&A. Process to order Cisco CMR Hybrid: 1. Submit an assessment-to-quality (A2Q) for CMR Hybrid (http://tools.cisco.com/atoq). 2. Initiate service enablement through Cisco WebEx Customer Success Manager (CSM). For detailed information, refer to Appendix B of the Cisco WebEx conferencing ordering guide. Cisco Expressway for Collaboration Edge Solution Cisco Expressway is an advanced collaboration gateway application that enables simple interworking of video endpoints as well as highly secure VPN-less access to video, voice, content sharing, instant messaging, and presence outside the enterprise firewall. Cisco Expressway allows video traffic to traverse the firewall securely, enabling companies to extend rich video communications not only to their mobile and teleworkers but also to partners, suppliers, and customers. Figure 2 illustrates a deployment of Cisco Expressway. To learn more, visit the Cisco Expressway website. Cisco Expressway consists of two key components: ● Expressway-C enables the interworking of Cisco TelePresence endpoints with standards-compliant H.323, H.264 SVC, or SIP third-party video systems as well as Microsoft Lync and Office Communications Server (OCS) clients. ● Expressway-E (along with Expressway-C) enables businesses to establish VPN-less video communication with remote and home office users, business partners, and customers. © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates. Deployment of VCS-Control and VCS-Expressway VCS-C and VCS-E Licensing To understand VCS licensing, one needs to know what traversal and non-traversal video calls are. Figure 4 provides an illustration of both. Figure 4. Traversal and Non-traversal Video Calls © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. This document is Cisco Confidential Information. Page 16 of 20 In a traversal video call, media flows through VCS: ● A maximum of 100 traversal calls can be supported on a single VCS. ● Maximum traversal calls licenses are included in VCS-Control. ● A license for traversal calls must be purchased with a base model of VCS-Expressway. In a non-traversal call, media does not flow through VCS: ● A maximum of 500 non-traversal calls can be support on a single VCS. ● Licenses for non-traversal calls must be purchased for both VCS-Control and VCS-Expressway. Ordering Information Step 1. Select the hardware platform - virtual or appliance - for VCS-Control and VCS-Expressway. Step 2. Configure the needed number of traversal and non-traversal licenses. Step 3. Configure other options (for example, FindMe, dual network interface cards [NICs], etc.) and power cords if it’s an appliance. This solution allows you to capture any video on demand or live streaming meeting, transform video to be viewed on any device, and share recorded videos or view live events (for example, all hands or town hall meetings) across the organization. More information can be found at CXS Solution: The CXS solution consists of the following three products: ● Cisco TelePresence Content Server: Converts video endpoints into a recording studio. It distributes this live or recorded video content to any PC or portable media device, or to VBrick REV portal. ● VBrick REV: REV is a cloud-native platform that enables companies to deliver video (live or on demand) across a variety of platforms and devices (desktop and mobile), thus making video management and viewing much easier across the organization using a wide range of deployment options. ● VBrick DME: The VBrick DME is a single integrated platform that intelligently provides media redistribution, media transformation, and the serving and storage of video on demand and live streaming content. A typical deployment has one or more central distributed media engines (DMEs) connected to edge DMEs. A single stream of media from a central site can support tens of thousands of live views and then be stored locally for on-demand access by thousands more. © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates.
