(For NETWORK INSTALLATION see reverse) SECTION BUILDER Version 8 Standalone Installation Instructions If you have previously installed SECTION BUILDER version 8, make a backup copy of the permanent license file “lservrc” before proceeding with this installation. To Install the Program 1. Insert the CD into the CD drive and follow the installation instructions. 2. When asked to do so, enter the serial number found on the SECTION BUILDER CD jewel case. A 30-day temporary license file is included with the package for new users. To Obtain a Permanent License File Locked to a Computer: 1. Go to the installation directory and double click on "echoid.exe". . 2. Copy the code number in the window to the locking Code field at the bottom of Request For License Form. Locked to a Computer ID Key: 1. You do not need to fill in the Locking Code number Fax the completed Request for License Form to CSI Existing users should copy the saved permanent license file “lservrc” over the temporary one and skip the next step. (For STANDALONEINSTALLATION see reverse) SECTION BUILDER Version 8 Network Installation Instructions In order to run SECTION BUILDER over a network, you must complete steps A, B, & C. To Obtain a Permanent License File Locked to a Computer: A. Install the SECTION BUILDER Server Software on the server computer. 1. The communications protocol must be TCP/IP or Netware IPX/SPX. 2. Insert the CD into the CD drive and follow the installation instructions. 3. When asked to do so, enter the serial number found on the SECTION BUILDER CD jewel case. B. Install the License Manager Server Software on the server computer If you currently have Sentinel LM 7.2.0 Server running go to step C. 1. Go to the License Manager directory located in the SECTION BUILDER Server directory created in step A above. 2. Go to the License Manager\Server\Setup directory, double click on "Setup.exe " and follow the instructions. 3. To register the temporary license file, double click on " lslicense.bat " located in the SECTION BUILDER..\License Manager folder. A 30-day temporary license file for one user is included with the package. 1. From the Server computer go to the License Manager directory in the SECTION BUILDER installation directory and double click on "echoid.exe". "echoid.exe" should be run from the actual server and not the computer that you may have used to install the program on the server. 2. Copy the code number in the window to the Locking Code field at the bottom of the Request For License Form. Locked to a Computer ID Key: 1. Complete the Request For License Form. You do not need to fill in the Locking Code number. Fax the completed Request For License Form to CSI A license file with instructions will be emailed to you. C. Install the SECTION BUILDER Workstation Software on each Client Computer 1. From each client workstation, go to the SECTION BUILDER Server directory on the server, double click on "Setup.exe" and follow the instructions. SECTION BUILDER can now be run on the client workstations. If SECTION BUILDER is slow in locating the server, (or can’t seem to find the server), set the system Environment Variable LSFORCEHOST on the workstation to the host name of the License Manager Server computer. (You can run "Wechoid.exe" from the server computer to find this host name.) Reboot the worksation for the Environment Variable to take effect. Refer to the License Manager System Administrator's Guide if you need help on setting this variable in the Control Panel.
