OVERVIEW
IT Directors, Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and IT Executives have a vital
leadership role as organisations become more dependent on technology, both
operationally and strategically. This innovative programme will provide you with
the skills and confidence to be effective in a senior IT position. With its practical

of this programme is to build the
capability to be successful. The
organisation itself must similarly have

PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
ROB LAMBERT
MSc DMS
Rob is particularly interested in the
role of information systems and
business processes in achieving
corporate objectives and acts as
a consultant to a number of multinational organisations in the financial,
pharmaceuticals and oil industries.
Rob’s research focuses on the
information competencies required to
deliver effective information systems.
More recently he has researched and
published on the changing role of the
CIO.
Prior to joining Cranfield, Rob worked
in industry for many years with
organisations such as Rank Xerox,
Plessey and W H Smith. Whilst in
industry Rob was responsible for the
management and development of
IT functions, particularly focussing
upon improving the effectiveness of
those functions in terms of creating
organisational value.
Rob is joined by Professor Kim James,
Dr Robina Chatham, Dr Martin Clarke
and Professor Cliff Bowman for this
programme.

Our Open Executive Programmes are
held at the Cranfield Management
Development Centre (CMDC). Full
board accommodation (where
applicable) and all sessions are
usually held at this specifically
designed conference centre which
has an established reputation for
being one of the best centres in the
country.

the Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire
border, CMDC is conveniently
situated by the M1 motorway, railway
stations and major airports. We even
