ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Cranfield School of Management is one of the oldest business schools in the UK. We are part of
Cranfield University, the UK’s only wholly postgraduate university specialising in science, technology,
engineering and management.
Management has been part of Cranfield University since the 1950s. The University was founded on an
old RAF site as the first postgraduate college of aeronautics. The School of Management grew out of
industrial need for management training and was formerly established in 1967.
We are known for our excellence in leadership development and for our powerful industry links and realworld focus.

We have more than 80 full-time academic staff who are actively engaged in consultancy and business
relevant research and are closely in touch with the needs of business and government. They are
committed to practicality, which means they are consistently current and topical in their teaching.

PROGRAMMES AND EXECUTIVE
DEVELOPMENT
• The Cranfield MBA – We offer a full-time MBA (one year), an Executive MBA (two years, part
time) and the Cranfield MBA (Defence) which is a part-time two-year programme
• Specialist Masters – Our full and part-time specialist masters programmes are designed for
practising professionals
• Doctorates – We offer two different routes to a doctorate - PhD and the International Executive
Doctorate (DBA)
• Customised Development – Our Centre for Customised Executive Development (CCED) is
ranked (according to the FT Rankings 2014) seventh among business schools worldwide for

Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of School
Professor Maury Peiperl joined Cranfield in February 2015 as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of
the School of Management.
Prior to Cranfield, Maury was at IMD Business School in Switzerland where
he was Professor of Leadership and Strategic Change.
After an engineering education from Princeton, followed by several years in
industry, Maury pursued an MBA and PhD at Harvard and embarked on a
career in business education. During his time at London Business School
and IMD, he gained extensive experience developing and leading innovative
executive education offerings with a wide range of organisations across
industries and regions of the world.
