Reading Comprehension Word Scrabble Appropriate Grade Level: K-5th Procedures/Steps: 1) Give students a set of letters that can combine to form words that are related to the lesson. 2) Give clues that can better help the students find the target word. 3) Gradually, give clues that will make a more complex word by the letters that are given. 4) A “secret word” can be the final word that can be made up of all the letters that are given out. The secret word can be something that relates to the lesson, or is used as a theme to the next weeks word scrabble. Comments and/or tips: -Having students work in pairs may help thought processes.
